Urban developer Denver Hughes gets off the train in Silverpines to the smoking ruins of most of downtown, devastated by fire. His job just got bigger and more complicated by leaps and bounds. Widow Belle Stewart needs a job and brazenly offers Denver herself as an assistant. With quaint humor, she tells him she can type on the new-fangled gadget called a typewriter (she really can't!) Romantic chemistry between these two develops gradually. Then, in an unforeseen accident, Belle is instantly "compromised" by Mr. Hughes. Being a gentleman, he offers to marry her. Poor Denver exhibits obsessive-compulsive disorder traits and is a bit of a germaphobe. Sweet and playful Belle pokes a little fun along the way with her new beau and his OCD! Belle's two adorable young children are a messy challenge to Denver's germaphobia for sure. Can these two make it a "marriage made in heaven?" Enjoy Silverpines book # 24 and enjoy all of the lovable characters that make up the heroic and quirky population of this Oregon community.
Loved the story of Belle and Denver in another Silverpines Series. Denver has been hired as the new city developer and when he arrives in the city after,the fire almost destroyed the city he knows he has his hands full that is when widowed Belle comes into his office asking to be his assistant. He isn’t so sure about hiring her but soon realizes the feisty mother of two is a real asset to him as she knows the town and everyone in it. They both have an attraction to each other so when they get trapped in a tunnel they fell into they know they must marry. Loved seeing their relationship developed and also how they grow into a family. Great story.Received from the author and this is my honest and unbiased opinion.
Belle and Denver's story. This was interesting and different than most books because of the development and reconstruction of the town. I enjoyed Belle and Denver's difference in personality, him being OCD and her being carefree, and their acceptance and growth in their relationship.The ending wasn't my favorite part, but it does make me excited for the next one!
